Live podcast at CTIA with Palm about Treo 750v!
Although the brand new Vodafone Windows Mobile Treo 750v is not publicly on display at CTIA Wireless in Los Angeles this week, Palm treated mytreo.net to a very exclusive peak at the device in a private area of the showroom floor. Live from CTIA, hear what Palm had to say about the device’s competitive standing in the marketplace. Hear about the leaked Cingular road map predicting an October U.S. release. A wide range of subject matters were covered in this thirty minute dialogue. Hear about it here first!

Wow, I really don’t like how they did the sim card placement…bleech. That was one of the nicest features in the 600, 650 and other 700s
Love the design, hate the color…but I will upgrade when I tire of my black-tie.
High end? How high?
Of course there’s a simcard in the Vodafone version - GSM phones don’t work without one!
Vodafone offers HSPDA yet Palm says they will offer an upgrade “when Vodafone HSPDA comes out” Does thismean that this upgrade will be out shortly ????
Dumbasses….still no camera flash. Duh.
Dumbasses….still no camera flash. Duh.
Same stupid keyboard layout as in the 700p with the menu key at the bottom right where you can’t get at it and the phone keys duplicated.
No flash for the camera. Still. Now the camera lens is even LOWER on the back, necessitating taking the phone out of its case to use the camera. Are they still at a lousy 1.3 megapixels?
The reset button is still hidden behind the battery door and if this phone works like the 700p, then you can be sure you’ll be constatly opening that door to reset the phone, unless their crappy software reboots for you in the middle of whatever you are trying to do.
The Palm engineers are all clueless fresh out of college dweebs, who have never ever bothered to do any usability testing.
It’s just too bad that Palm is in essence a monopoly. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Why should Palm actually listen to users; that make whatever the heck they feel like and we’re supposed to jump up and down with glee. NOT!
smaller battery??????………..the large battery in the 650 was the thing that really did it for us road warriors.
smaller battery and 3g network!!!!!!!!!!!.
stupid stupid stupid!
not for me in the uk thanks.
:-(
Yep, Vodafone’s HSDPA (VodaCom in South Africa) has been out for some time, with theoretical max speeds of 1.8 Mbps (although they warn it will likely be 400 to 800 kbps).
My main concern is the mini SD. The great thing about my 650 is the ability to use the SD in my pc and digital camera to transfer files easily and quickly. Haven’t even seen a mini SD available yet….
Windose Mobile??? What about all the palm apps I’ve already bought and the many more I use every day?
No flash is dumb too!!!
external antenna was no problem for me.
also..
Does is do WiFi??? bluetooth voice dialing???
I see “Vodafone”. Will this work in Japan?
