Install ringtones from the SD card
Posted on May 17th, 2004 by Chris Nolan
This is a simple method to install ringtones without having to use your Treo internet connection. Thanks to RevKathy for finding this.
Follow this method to install a midi file from the SD card:
Copy the .mid file to your SD card.
In Blazer you should be able to enter the URL, file:///path/to/file.mid
For example:
File not in a directory: file:///file.mid
File in a directory: file:///dir/file.mid
File in a subdirectory: file:///dir1/dir2/file.mid
Then just choose save, you can rename the tone if you like. The new tone will now be available in the Treo 600 ringtones database.

Hi Guys,
I want to know whether I can store a .wav file in the local memory of palm treo 680 to use it as a ringtone. Even though Palm 680 specs say you can use wav and midi file as ringtones, I am not able to save wav file into local memory.
I converted a MP3 file to wav file using ringtone media studio software and tried to quick install it on treo 680. But the quick installer did not recognise the file and said it was a incompatible file type for local memory.
Any help on this is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
