Install Java on your Treo 600
The latest version of WebSphere Micro Environment (CLDC 1.1 /MIDP 2.0) is available for users of the Treo 600 smartphones. This enables you to run Java applications on your Treo :)

How to install Java on your Treo:
The IBM Websphere Micro Environment is available to download for $5.95 at palmOne. It is also available free of charge to PalmOS developers - just follow these instructions to download and install the file:
- Login to PalmOne developer website at http://pluggedin.palmone.com/regac/pluggedin/login.jsp
- Click “Java” on the navigation bar on the left.
- Under “Downloads”, click on “Download Now”.
- Download the “WebSphere Micro Environment Toolkit for Palm OS” for ARM processor.
- Unzip the downloaded file.
- Navigate to the “prc\ARM” directory.
- Hotsync the file named “J9JavaVMMidpNG.prc”
- Soft reset your Palm when prompted.
That’s it - you are now able to run Java Micro Edition applications on your Treo or other Palm device. You can install Java midlets using the program Midlet HQ which is now found on your Palm. You can also install Java applications by converting the *.jar or *.jad file to a *.prc and then Hotsync the file to your Palm. You can read how to convert these files here.
