Seidio Super Slim Hybrid case for the Treo 680

I was surprised when I opened the packaging and first saw this case. Although it’s a two piece unit very similar to the Seidio rubberized super slim case that I recently reviewed, at first this product looks like parts from completely different cases.
In fact, that is exactly what this case is: the back is identical to the back piece from the rubberized super slim case and the front is from the crystal clear super slim case.
This combination of parts gives you the best features of both cases. You get the soft tactile surface of the back piece to give you a nice secure grip on your Treo. The crystal front shows off the colorful nature of your 680.
Despite the case being perhaps the most lightweight one on the market, it offers strong protection for the body of the device. There are cutouts allowing access to all the keys, ports, buttons, and SD card, so that you can take full advantage of your Treo. Also, Seidio offers cross compatibility between accessories. So if you own Seidio’s 2400mAh extended battery, there is a custom battery cover available for you.
I encountered two negatives, both of which are commonly associated with all cases of this type. The main one is that the case is difficult to remove. This will not be an issue for most people in their day to day use of a Treo. However, it is a more meaningful problem for people who swap batteries frequently, change SIM cards or perform frequent battery resets. The other issue is that the case only provides protection to the main body of the Treo. If you drop your device and the screen takes a hit, your device could get damaged.
Overall I recommend this product. If you want to protect your Treo with a robust, lightweight case - this is a superb way to go.

The hybrid case has saved my Treo from destruction. I have the Hybrid case for my 680 and the rubberized black case (same except both front and back are black) for use when using the extended battery. Since insurance is not available (at least thru Cingular) these cases are the next best thing. Yes if the screen takes a direct hit it’s gone, but many skins and cases share this problem.
Finally I have never found the case difficult to remove. The directions are clear and work like a charm - at least that’s been my experience.
i usually order both off of ebay for 99 cents each and have been comibing them for a while now. Surprised noone ever thought of it before to sell. I could have a great product to sell if I thought to sell it!!
