Seidio Light Pink InEar Isolator Earbuds

Let’s face it, until there’s a great update in Treo Bluetooth, we’re pretty limited in how we listen to our music. And even if we get that update, you’ll still need a wired headset because using Bluetooth on an airplane is still a definite nono.

The color aside, the Seidio is a nice, comfortable stereo headset. Although I’ve used Seidio headsets since my Treo 600 days, this was the first isolator design that I’d tried. I don’t understand why all earbuds don’t follow this design, because there can’t possibly be anything more comfortable. The rubbery tips fit right into your ear, molding to the shape of your ear canal, and stay comfortably in place. You even get extra tips in different sizes, although the standard seems to fit my average ears well.

The sound quality is good. I wouldn’t compare this headset to a Bose, but then I wouldn’t compare my Treo’s mp3 playing ability to a good stereo either. For what we’re working with, the quality is more than acceptable, and true stereo. Please keep in mind, that in most states, driving with stereo headphones on is illegal. With that in mind, it is possible to use this headset for a phone call with only one side in. You will, however, have to increase the volume substantially when using it in this manner.

They are perfect for watching movies in a crowded waiting room, or listening to music while exercising. And when you’re not driving, the Seidio Pink Isolators work great for phone calls – without having to scramble to take them out or flip a button. The built in microphone has an answer/hangup switch, along with a volume control dial. The volume control dial is extremely helpful when switching from a movie to a phone call. Incidentally, this little beauty works as well on my new Treo 700p as on my old Treo 650.

The one thing I dislike about this accessory is the wire itself. Plastic-coated for strength, it still seems flimsy, and kinks easily. I’m afraid to throw it in my purse, and it seems to tangle even when put in a (purse) pocket by itself. While this was never a consideration with a previous earbud, the typical (non-stereo) earbud costs significantly less.

I suppose I should address the "pinkness" of this particular headset, since that’s what distinguishes it from Seidio’s other ear isolators. It is not hot pink, which is almost a shame. It’s more of a dusty rose color, and isn’t likely to call too much attention to itself. As a matter of fact, the only colored parts are the plastic casing with the microphone/volume dial, and a very small portion of the earbuds. With the earbuds in your ears, the only visible part is silver.

In summary, I’m extremely happy with the function of this tiny stereo earbud headset. Sound comes through clear, and when I use it as an ordinary earbud/microphone, people on the other end of a call hear me clearly. I will continue to be cautious with the wire, although it could be unnecessary concern on my part.

  1. I brought this in the color pink. I love it. Im a hip hop girl so I “rock it” with the pink skin that I got from the Sprint Pcs store ( im a cingular customer)….anywho… my Beyonce and 50 cent sounds so lovely thru my new headset.

    I LOOOOOOOVE IT!

  2. I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right forum or comment but I’m’ sure this headphones is great but I’m not sure if this is an old topic but I’ve found the absolutely best thing for treo fanatics like myself. Imagine listening to your music or watching a movie on TCPMP with a set of wireless bluetooth headphones. Cause I’m doing right now, all you need is these headphones from Phillips VOX340, awsome headphones that come with a dongle for 3.5mm outlets. And you need a software called Audio Gateway from Softstick which allows you to use your bluetooth headphones with your phone. But listen to this, while listening to music or watching a movie, if someone calls it switches to the caller, than after it ends, it switches back to the music……seems to good to be true….check it out!
