Seidio Crystal and Pouch Leather case for the Treo 700p / 700w

Seidio is rapidly becoming synonymous with Treo accessories. They have an enormous variety of cool stuff including the popular skin case. But all I can say about Seidio’s new Crystal case is WOW!

The Seidio Crystal Clear Case comes in two interlocking halves. The Treo 700 rests in the back half and the top piece snaps down, locking your device in clear protective plastic. At first glance, you really can’t tell that your Treo is in a case at all. It is minimalist beauty and protection all in one.

The entire back of your device is covered, with perfect cutouts for the speaker, camera, and stylus. There’s also a hole designed to match up with Seidio’s replacement battery cover. You really need the replacement battery cover, because the crystal case is serious about protecting your Treo, and isn’t easily removed.

The top offers access to the mute switch, sd card, and IR port. The bottom offers access to the power and earphone plugs, and the microphone. The fit is tight and molded expertly for the Treo 700. So thin and formfitting is the crystal case, that you can charge the Treo 700 on the Seidio Inno-dock cradle without removing it.

The front of the crystal case is remarkable in that the sides curve gracefully around to protect every centimeter around the touch screen. This is something you have to feel to believe: seeing is not believing! The entire keypad is left open, as well as the raised speaker bud. This case will definitely prevent dings and scratches from marring your Treo.

I wouldn’t think twice about tossing my Treo 700 into a purse or computer bag when it’s protected by the crystal case. It adds no bulk, so it is perfect for carrying in a shirt or trouser pocket. But if you prefer your Treo on your belt, it’s nice to know that Seidio has a companion piece that makes this a reality.

The leather pouch holster is made of soft leather, with large stitching on the inside and outside. At first glance it’s just another case. However, I counted three major differences from any other holster type case that I’ve looked at. The first and most important difference is the sides, which are attached to the body of the case by heavy elastic tabs, allowing just enough give to fit the Treo and the crystal case. No need to switch cases, or remove your Treo from its Cinderella case.

Many vertical cases include business/credit card holders in the flap, but the Seidio pouch is the first holster I’ve seen with a card slot. It’s a simple, functional, and necessary design idea. It would also be a great place for your mad money.

The third difference is the wide, magnetic closure. Two heavy magnets make sure the flap stays closed, further protecting your Treo. The inside is soft leather so that neither your Treo nor your crystal case will be scratched. (Obviously you can place your Treo directly in the holster without the crystal case.)

If you like the way your Treo looks without a case, or if you want protection without bulk: the crystal case is for you. Pairing the crystal case with the pouch leather holster gives you great protection and versatility.
