One cable can do it all–with plenty of room to spare. Why use an electrical outlet and a USB port to power and sync your Treo, when a USB port alone will suffice? The Seidio 40-inch USB Desktop Sync & Charge Cable makes life far less cluttered.

The cable is perfect at school where I have a desktop computer, and the tower case sits under my desk. The cable is long enough to reach the USB port on the back of the CPU while my Treo is on my desk. I can keep it charging all day, and I’m still ready to sync quickly. Although my cable doesn’t have a sync button (I have to turn on my Treo and tap on the hotsync icon to initiate a sync), there is a version of the 40-inch USB Desktop Sync & Chage Cable with Integrated Sync Button.

There are two places I use the 40-inch cable that make my life even easier than at my desk. I use this cable with Seidio’s Interchangeable Travel Adaptor to keep my Treo charged at my bedside. I use my Treo before bed every night to review tasks and appointments for the following day, to send a few text messages, and to relax with a game of Bejeweled or Chuzzle. Of course, I also use my Treo as my alarm clock, and let Butler wake me every morning, so I like having my Treo completely charged at all times.

The other place I use the 40-inch cable is in my car with Seidio’s USB car adaptor. I don’t like the little dedicated car chargers with their curly cords and one prong plug. They’re not secure enough, and that curly cord barely reaches to the seat, never to my ear! The 40-inch cable gives me more flexibility. I can keep my Treo charging and easily answer calls, or I can keep it on the dashboard while using it to stream audio, or as a gps.

Everyone needs at least one spare sync/charge cable. I highly recommend Seidio’s 40-inch cable.
