Review of JAVOscreen protectors for Treo
Considering how much of an investment your Treo 650 (or 600) represents, you’d be crazy not to do everything you could to protect it. Holsters, cases, and skins help to protect the actual body of your device, but every time you go to use your Treo you inevitably make the screen vulnerable to all manner of harm.
Most Treo owners use screen protectors, like the JAVOScreen, - available through the mytreo.net store – to keep their devices safe from scratches and smudges.

My first reaction was that $10.95 was a lot to spend on just one screen protector. Especially considering that PalmOne offers a 13-pack for $19.99 (they even threw one in for free with my Treo 650). But it didn’t take long for me to see the difference in these 2 products.
The JAVOScreen is a thin, durable piece of material that covers the Treo’s screen perfectly without having to cut it down to fit. Making it even easier to apply is the yellow tab that juts out from the cover’s backing, allowing you to get the JAVOScreen on your Treo without getting your fingerprints all over the it. And for good measure they’ve included a small cleaning cloth to assure that you’re applying the JAVOScreen to clean surface, and an installation card that you can use to smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles.
The material itself has a dull finish, which seems to help reducing glare and makes it easier to view the screen in direct light. So aside from just protecting your device, the JAVOScreen actually makes it more usable.
The major difference between the JAVOScreen and PalmOne’s screen protector is in its durability. PalmOne’s screen protectors are disposable and need to be replaced every month or so as they get scratched and worn-out. Removing one of these disposable screen protectors after a decent amount of use can be a little bit of a challenge due to the adhesive residue that’s invariably left behind. Because they don’t use any kind of adhesive to hold them in place, JAVOScreens are easy to remove, clean, and re-use over and over again.
The price tag for one individual JAVOScreen seems a little easier to justify now, especially considering that, compared to the PalmOne product, this just might be the last screen protector you ever need to buy.

As I had to replace my current Treo 650 under warrenty I thought I would protect the screen from day 1.
I have used other protectors and this one is by far the easiest to apply and looks the best (clarity). I hope it holds up a while cause the price is steep. So far so good!
