Extended Batteries & Stylish Treo Cases - Meet the Seidio Team! (Video)
Have you ever wondered who designed your favorite Treo accessory? Have you ever wanted to pull back the veil on a company and meet the people behind the brand? We at mytreo.net have been curious about Seidio, one of the great Treo accessory manufacturers and participants in the community.
Seidio is incredibly innovative. They were the first to manufacture Treo 2-in-1 headsets, eliminating the need to carry multiple products for listening to MP3s and talking hands-free. Seidio was first to release extended batteries that doubled talk time of several Treo models. It’s one of the few producing 3-in-1 styluses (containing pens), back covers with reset holes and crystal, rubberized and hybrid cases.
To introduce you to their team, we recorded three sets of videos during our trip to the company’s Houston headquarters. Below, meet Sales, Business Development and Product Design managers. Learn about extended batteries and recently released cases. In the next installment, watch Seidio’s car-kit Product Designer show off his latest inventions, learn about headsets, and meet the Head of Customer Support. Finally, hear directly from David Chang, Seidio’s CEO.
Enjoy meeting the Seidio team!

Loved my Seidio purchase until my holster latch broke (weak design), then my nightmare began. Asked to send email with pictures, promised a response in a couple of days. Did so, nothing. Got in contact again, they had no problem finding my email, and promised I’d hear back in a couple of days. Again, nothing.
Clever design, flawed production, absolutely broken customer service. Avoid!
I’ve been using the Seidio extended battery, 2in1 noise isolating headset and rubberized case with my Treo 680. Particularly the battery and rubberized case are “must haves,” though I recommend the headset as well. They are great products.
I bought Seido’s 3200mAh extended battery for my Treo 650 and couldn’t live without it any more. Thanks so much Seido! I also bought their G2200S Car Kit which is - in its core functionality - unbeatable.
But the Car Kit is very poor regarding its material quality: The cigarette lighter DC power cord was damaged from the beginning, the cradle’s air vent pedestal should be also much more robust.
If Seido would work on such quality weaknesses of their products they really could become the market leader in their segment.
In sum: Absolutely smart products but room for improvement.
I am always surprised when I see a tech web site do a story about a company or about a technology and do very little due-diligence research. Seidio is in fact a very innovative company. However they are a great example of a company that quickly got too big for their britches. Many of their recent products have been defective. And their proactive response to these product failures have been miserable. Trying to get hold of their customer service proves to be difficult to impossible. They make promises about replacements or refunds and then never follow up. A simple Google search on Seidio reveals many forum web sites full of disgruntled customers…many of which still have no remedy to their issue after weeks or even months. I really question the author’s depth of research on this company. You should be more of an authority and not steer people towards poorly performing vendors.
By due diligence, do you mean using their products ourselves, visiting their facilities and interviewing their staff? LOL. That’s exactly we’ve done.
Every store in the Treo community (including Palm.com) carries Seidio products. People may not know…but top brands resell Seidio accessories under their own names. It’s amazing how fast Seidio has grown in only a few years.
Yes, I have owned a lot of their products too. A defective rubberized skin and holster; a defective innodock jr.;a defective sych cable; and now a defective extended battery. Have you ever tried calling their customer service? Voicemail then no call backs. Have you ever tried to get an RMA to return something? Go to the most popular Treo forums on the net, treocentralDOTcom and do a search on Seidio. There you will see dozens of posts on their “great” products. You said above that it’s amazing how fast they have grown in just a few years. Exactly my point! They have grown faster than their ability to service their customers. Again, just a little research would have easily exposed this disturbing trend at Seidio.
I purchased the Treo 680 Crystal Case and the Hold N’ Store (more like Hold N’ FLING) holster.
Both of which are poorly designed from a material, and design point of view.
Contacting customer service resulted in an email back apologizing that I was having problems with my Extended battery……..Pardon?!?!
Long story short…..avoid Seidio. First they suck the money from your wallet, and then their products suck!!
